The project’s main app is provided under an Apache license. All other repositories that are necessary to build and distribute the generated map files are also made available in CoMaps’ Codeberg organisation.
The project is a fork of Organic Maps (which in turn is a fork of Maps.me), which was made due to governance & openness concerns.
The project makes heavy use of OpenStreetMap data, which is provided under an Open Data Commons Open Database License.
The project is funded through donations, via Open Collective and Liberapay (financially and in-kind by volunteer contributors).
